Camp Asphalt is Kingsview’s outdoor ministry to the youth of our community. The purpose of Camp Asphalt is to provide neighbourhood youth with a safe and healthy alternative to “just hanging-out.” Camp Asphalt serves more than 25 children and youth each day. The camp connects the neighbourhood youth with good role models who are interested in seeing them become better citizens. As an arm of ministry of our church, Camp Asphalt allows us to fulfill in a very practical manner, the biblical injunction to love our neighbour.

From a small beginning on the church parking lot this ministry has spread right across Etobicoke. Our church now rents the grounds and asphalt surfaces of several local schools in order to conduct supervised recreational programming, mainly of a drop-in nature. This ministry has resulted in the revitalisation of local school yards that had been barren of life for many years. Camp Asphalt is overseen by summer staff hired from the community. The main sports programs offered are soccer, basketball and volleyball. Camp Asphalt provides an opportunity for youth missions groups from all over North America to come to the Dixon area to serve its diverse population.
