Community Outreach

Much of our local community outreach is focused on children, youth & families, especially newcomers to Canada.

English as a Second Language (ESL) classes (for women) take place Monday to Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. in our Broadview Education Centre.  The partnership is with the Toronto Baptist Intercultural Service and other local churches.  From time to time we also have interns or placement students from local post-secondary schools that help to teach.

We offer a Breakfast Program at Kipling Collegiate Institute on Tuesday and Thursday mornings in partnership with the school.  Volunteers prepare a balanced, healthy breakfast at no charge to the students.

The Bike Repair Shop is a seasonal program that helps to provide free bicycles & free or at cost repairs to local children & youth with the generous support of The Bicycle Depot (829 Albion Rd.) and other partners.  This practical program is offered at various sites around the Dixon community — look for our mobile bicycle repair shop returning for a second year in 2016!

At Christmastime we have a special focus on ensuring that families have access to enough healthy food.  We receive and collect grocery gift cards to distribute to local families.  If you or someone you know is in need, please contact the church office.
